New car | BYD Seal 06GT officially launched

On October 18, BYD Ocean Network’s new model, the Seal 06GT, was officially launched, with a total of 4 configuration models. The car is positioned as a sports-style pure electric mid-size car, providing a variety of power options such as rear-wheel drive and four-wheel drive, and a maximum CLTC operating range of 605 kilometers.

The appearance of the Seal 06GT is built with the design concept of “ocean aesthetics” of the Ocean Network. The front of the car is a closed design with irregular headlights. The front surround uses a three-stage shape, the interior is decorated with black honeycombs, and there are L-shaped vents on both sides. On the side of the body, the Haibao 06GT is equipped with hidden door handles, and the B-pillar and C-pillar are decorated in black, creating the effect of a floating roof.

The rear of the Seal 06GT is equipped with a through-type light strip and a two-stage spoiler. The rear surround shape echoes the front of the car and incorporates the diffuser design. In terms of size, the length, width and height of the Seal 06GT are 4630/1880/1490 mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 2820 mm. In addition, the car will be equipped with 18-inch rims as standard, and the top-of-the-line four-wheel drive model will be equipped with 19-inch rims and red brake calipers.

It is reported that the Seal 06GT will provide four exterior colors, including Obsidian Black, Atlantis Gray, Wind Blown Grass Green, and Bellinimi, among which the Bellinimi paint needs to pay 2,000 yuan for optional installation, while other paints are free of charge.

In terms of interior, the Seal 06GT adopts the latest design style of the family, equipped with a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and equipped with the advanced version of the smart cockpit – DiLink 100 car system, and the steering wheel also uses light blue stitching. The front row of the vehicle uses an integrated sports seat, and the main driver’s seat is standardly equipped with electric adjustment. The rear row of the vehicle is equipped with air-conditioning vents, USB Type-C/Type-A interfaces, and the floor is a flat design. In addition, the car also has a front trunk to expand the vehicle’s storage space.

In terms of configuration, the Seal 06GT 505 Hailang Plus version has additional configurations compared to the entry-level 505 Hailang version, including driver detection, DiPilot 5 intelligent driving assistance system, electric tailgate, 50-watt wireless charging for mobile phones in the front row, front seat ventilation/heating, and exterior mirror blind spot indicator lights. The size of the central control screen has also been upgraded from 12.8 inches to 15.6 inches.

The two Wave Edition models are built on a 400-volt platform and are rear-wheel drive. The motor has a maximum power of 160 kilowatts and a peak torque of 310 Nm. They are matched with a 59.52 kWh battery pack and have a CLTC operating range of 505 kilometers.

The Seal 06GT 550 4WD Heat Wave Edition will adopt dual-motor 4WD, equipped with 1200V silicon carbide electronic control, with a total output power of 310 kW and a total torque of 510 Nm. It will also provide iTAC intelligent torque control system, FSD variable damping shock absorber, and support competition/drift mode. The car will be equipped with a 72.96 kWh battery pack and a CLTC operating range of 550 kilometers. In terms of configuration, the car will be upgraded with 12-speaker Dynaudio audio, 12-inch W-HUD head-up display and other configurations based on the 605 Heat Wave Edition.

The positioning of the Seal 06GT is between the dolphin and the seal. At present, the pure electric hatchbacks in the domestic sedan market mainly include the SAIC Volkswagen ID.3 (guided price from 129,888 yuan) and the SAIC General Buick Velite 6 (guided price from 112,800 yuan). The sales of the two competing models in September this year were 9,650 and 2,775 respectively.
