On May 28, 2024, BYD officially launched a new model – the Seal 06 DM-i (picture | configuration | inquiry). The car is equipped with the latest generation of DM technology and has launched five different configuration models
In terms of appearance, the Seal 06 DM-i continues BYD’s consistent ocean design aesthetics, with an overall style that is more in line with the aesthetic of young people, and more inclined towards sports and fashion.
On the side of the car, the waistline design of the new car creates a faint feeling, gradually disappearing from the front hood to the B-pillar, and gradually appearing at the rear, like waves in the ocean. In terms of size, the Seal 06 DM-i is positioned as a mid size sedan, with dimensions of 4830/1875/1495mm in length, width, and height, and a wheelbase of 2790mm, filling the gap between the Seal DM-i and the Destroyer 05.
In terms of tail design, the new car adopts a sloping design and adds a small ducktail shape to the rear trunk lid, adding a sporty atmosphere.
In terms of interior, the Seal 06 DM-i and the Seal EV use the same steering wheel, crystal gear lever, and door handle. Most of the interior materials are wrapped in soft materials, giving a sense of high-end.
In terms of power system, the new car will be equipped with the fifth generation DM technology, equipped with the BYD472QC 1.5L hybrid special engine, with a power of 74kW. At the same time, there are two sets of combinations for the motor and battery. The low-end version is a 120kW motor with a 10.08kWh battery pack, with a pure electric range of 80km (WLTC working condition 60km); The high-end version features a 160kW motor paired with a 15.874kWh battery pack, with a pure electric range of 120km (WLTC working condition of 90km).
In terms of charging, according to the official introduction, the 10.08kWh battery version of the vehicle only provides a slow charging port, while the 15.874kWh battery version provides a fast and slow charging port, both located on the right rear fender.
